John Lakatos

John Lakatos is a native of Muskegon, Michigan. He and Ruth currently reside in the beautiful downtown Robinson township - Ottawa County - the very center of the universe.

Bluegrass music has been a favorite of John's for many years. His musical background began in grade school - Accordions (HUH?) trombone and finally an electric guitar that he never learned to play.

His 1941 vintage Kay bass was a gift from Ruth and they have been hammering out the tunes together for the past 15 years. John is also especially proud to have served as the Vice President for the West Michigan Bluegrass Music Association.

"Bluegrass music is better for me than playing Polkas on that accordion, and I never could figure out how to play them on the trombone. When I'm not playing bluegrass music at festivals, concerts, or jams, you most likely will find me on the water hooking a few bass or out in the wood hunting deer. In my spare time I work for the largest Electric Utility in Michigan."
